Community service remains a vital part of our family life so on this page, I wanted to highlight a couple of my favorite non-profits. All of which I have personally donated my time AND money because I believe in the work they do and the impact they make on the lives of others.

If you would like to see other great organizations on the list, please contact me. This is by no means an entire list, just a few organizations I love, to start!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (GA)

Our Mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) provide blood cancer patients and their families and holds a special place in our hearts. As a family, we are proud to help raise money to support their incredible services. We volunteer and support the organization in memory of my beloved maternal grandmother, who remains one of the most influential women in my life and in honor of my brother-in-law, a Lymphoma survivor!

Please consider making a donation. Someday is today.

Urban Hope

Our Mission: Urban Hope is a ministry devoted to children. A ministry grounded in Christian love, it attempts to change the lives of children and youth, bringing them a sense of hope and a sense of future through spiritual, educational development and life management skills at our after-school and summer programs. All Urban Hope programs are provided free to the participants.

I was introduced to Urban Hope when The Coach and I attended a fundraiser many years ago. It was a great night of food and music! We met a couple of amazing students from Urban Hope in attendance and they provided just the nudge I needed to get involved with the organization. I couldn’t wait to be a part of Urban Hope to volunteer and now I proudly serve on the Board of Directors as Vice President!

If you would like to donate to Urban Hope or learn more about becoming more involved, please email urbanhopevolunteer@gmail.com for more information.

Boys And Girls Clubs of Chicago (BGCC)

Our Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

BGCC is part of the national organization, Boys and Girls Clubs of America. I volunteered at a number of clubs in Chicago by mentoring, tutoring, serving on a club board and just plain lending an extra hand at special events. This organization does such positive work with the kids and within each community they serve.

The years I spent volunteering with this organization were perhaps more impactful for me than for the kids! If you are interested in volunteering or donating please follow the links for additional details.
